Emergency First Response (EFR) is the fastest-growing international CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training organization. Dedicated to training the lay rescuer, EFR courses encompasses adult, child and infant CPR skills, provides AED and First Aid training, and feature an outstanding First Aid at Work component making it a favorite among divers around the world.
Many divers take the Emergency First Response courses to meet program prerequisites, such as PADI Rescue Diver, or as preparation for becoming a PADI Divemaster. However, most have also found the EFR program to be important in every day life. They have taken a significant step in emergency preparedness, and feel confident that they can provide care should an emergency situation arise. EFR is a dry course and no prior qualification is required.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
• To teach the basic steps and techniques for handling life threatening emergencies
• To save or restore a patient’s life
• To help to reduce a patient’s recovery time; either in the hospital or at home
• To understand the legitimate concerns on the part of Emergency Responders when helping those with injures and illness

Practical sessions with lectures, discussions, and small group activities, audiovisual materials
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
Knowledge mastery is assessed using Knowledge Reviews, Final Exam with a minimum score of 75%. Skills mastery is assessed by student demonstration of skill proficiency.
